One of the greatest batsmen of the modern era, Brian Charles Lara earned the distinction as the first & the only player to register 400 in a Test match innings.

The most Test 100s for West Indies player achieved the feat against England in 2004, bettering Mathew Hayden for the highest ever individual score in the longest format of the game. He scored 400 not out off 582 balls, consisting 43 fours & 4 sixes.

Incidentally, Lara bettered his score of 375 at the same venue(St John’s) & against the same opponent.
