Neil Harvey & Vinod Kambli jointly have the record of the third fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket history – 14 innings. The next 4 in the top 10 list of the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket – Leonard Hutton, Frank Worrell, Lawrence Rowe & Yashasvi Jaiswal have taken 16 innings each, getting to the mark.

Herbert Sutcliffe 12 Innings : Test Cricket Fastest 1000 Runs,, Sutcliffe – Former England Cricket Team Player
One of England’s finest opening batter – Herbert Sutcliffe, till date, holds the record of the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket – in just 12 innings. Later, it was equalled by Everton Weekes.
Debuting in 1924, Sutcliffe completed his 1000 Test runs in 1925, versus Australia. Having 4555 runs( avg – 59.9) in 84 innings of 54 Tests, he retired in 1935.

Everton Weekes 1000 Test Runs In 12 Innings
Everton Weekes, the former West Indies batsman – equalled the record of the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket, in 1948. He did that against India, at Brabourne.
Batting in 81 innings(48 Tests), Weekes ended his Test career with 4455 runs( avg – 58.6) against his name, in 1958.

Taking 13 innings to complete his 1000 runs in Test cricket, Don Bradman did that against England (at Leeds), in 1930.
The former Australian great went on scoring a total of 6996 Test runs, in 80 innings of 52 Tests. The player having arguably the most famous batting average of 99.94, had a Test career from 1928-1948. The Australian 5th most Test 100s player had – 13 fifties & 29 hundreds which included 12 double-hundreds and 2 triple-hundreds.

Kamindu Mendis Stats : 2nd Fastest 1000 Runs In Test Cricket, Kamindu Mendis Cricketer Sri Lanka
Making his Test debut versus Australia in 2022, the Sri Lankan left-handed batter has equalled Don Bradman, taking only 13 innings to complete his 1000 Test runs.
He achieved the feat against New Zealand, at Galle, in the 2nd Test match of Sri Lanka Vs New Zealand Test series 2024.
