The record of the Fastest 100 Wickets In Test Cricket history in terms of the innings, has been held by Charlie Turner, followed by Clarrie Grimmet at second. George Lohmann(3rd), Yasir Shah(4th) and Prabhat Jayasuriya(5th), all have touched the mark in the same number of innings.

Sydney Barnes has the sixth fastest 100 wickets in Test cricket. He is followed by Ravichandran Ashwin(7th), Alfred Valentine(8th) & Maurice Tate(9th), all three with equal number of innings. Ian Botham makes appearance on the tenth spot, in the list of the fastest 100 wickets in Test cricket.

Among these players, Ravichandran Ashwin is the only one appearing in the top 10 lists of the – fastest 500 Test wickets and most Test wickets.

100 wickets in 30 innings by the former Australian great Charlie Turner : the fastest 100 wickets in Test cricket history. He did the same in 1895, versus England, at Sydney.

In a Test cricket career from 1887-1895, Turner had a total of 101 wickets in 17 Tests, at a spectacular bowling average of 16. This included 11 five-wicket hauls & 2 ten-wicket hauls.

Clarrie Grimmet 31 Innings : 2nd Fastest 100 Wickets In Test Cricket History

31 innings – the 2nd fastest in the list above, by another Australian great Clarrie Grimmet. The milestone came in 1931, against West Indies(at Brisbane). He took 17 Tests to do the same, like Turner.

The Aussie leg spinner went on having total 216 scalps, in 67 innings of 37 Tests(avg – 24). His Test career(1925-36) involved 21 five-fers & 7 ten-fers.
