The Asia Cup Cricket tournament is an international cricket tournament among Asian Countries and alternates every two-year between One Day International & T20 International cricket.
The 2025 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament that runs from September 9 to 28, in UAE, finds India as the victorious.
Established in 1983, the Asia Cup is officially known as the ACC Men’s Asia Cup or ACC Cup. It involves the – One Day Internationals & Twenty-20 Internationals formats of the game and is the only continental championship in cricket.

Asian Cricket Council Asia Cup History : ACC Teams Asia Cup Cricket
The first edition of the Asia Cup cricket was held in 1984, in UAE where the 1983 ODI World Cup winners India became the champions.
India didn’t participate in the 1986 edition & Pakistan does the same in the 1990/91 edition while 1993 edition was cancelled.
The ACC offices were based in UAE, until 1995. Sri Lanka wins the 2022 edition, followed by India becoming victorious in – 2023 & the latest 2025 edition.
The ACC announced that the Asia Cup tournament would be held biennially from 2009 onwards. There was a decision that the Asia Cup events from 2016 would be played between ODI & T20I formats.
The 2016 event happened to be the first one played in the T-20 format which found India as the winners.

The Asia Cup 2025, had been scheduled from 9th to 28th September, in UAE. The tournament ran in the T20 format. Dubai & Abu Dhabi, were confirmed as the venues.
In the Asia Cup cricket 2025 Final match, India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets, ultimately becoming the Champions. Playing an unbeaten knock of 69(53 balls, 3 fours & 4 sixes) at number 4, India’s left handed batter Tilak Varma was adjudged the Player of the Match.
The Indian left handed explosive opener, Abhishek Sharma was found the Player of the Series, for his 314 runs in 7 innings.

Asia Cup Matches : 2023
The 2023 Asia Cup cricket tournament was scheduled from 30th August to 17th September. It was the first Asia Cup to be hosted by multiple countries, the four matches were played in Pakistan & the remaining nine in Sri Lanka.
In total, 13 matches were played in 2023 edition which included 6 group stage matches, 6 super fours & one final.
In the group stage, each team played two matches while in the super four stage it was three for each team.

In the final match of the 2022 Asia Cup played in Dubai, Pakistan opted bowling against Sri Lanka.
